My name is Kim VanPelt and I am the director of an exciting new program called Parents’ Morning Out. I have always loved working with kids, and have recently come to especially enjoy working with preschoolers. Kids of all ages are fun to be around, but the preschool range is just downright adorable. I enjoy how sweet they are, and they keep me on my toes with the funny, unexpected things they say. Also, no one is more loving or creative than a child.

I love working with the little kids and watching them grow, especially on the ice. It’s amazing to see a kid who can barely stand in skates off ice be able to skate around doing glides and backwards wiggles after just a couple of lessons.

I have worked with children in many different capacities over the past thirteen years.  I have been a gymnastics coach, an inflatable bounce house party host/referee, and a figure skating/basic skills coach, and I have my own professional babysitting service.

Outside of working with kids as my job, I have also volunteered with the nursery and elementary-age ministries at my church for many years.

I was an Ice House camp counselor for three years before being promoted to Assistant Camp Director in 2012.  I have also been a skating coach at the rink for 2 years, and I specialize in working with kids ages 3-5 years old.
